"For the last five years I’ve served as the project manager, art director, writer, idea-maker and fact-finder for Counseling Services’ annual reports. It is one of my favorite projects for many reasons. The opportunity to interview staff, board members, clients and families allows me to learn why people do what they do. Through the years I’ve learned how mental illness has changed peoples’ lives. I know first-hand. My sister has a serious mental illness that has consumed much of her adult life. I truly believe that if she had access to the type of services that CSI offers that her life may have become more manageable.

I’m continually amazed at the strength of the human spirit. Even though people may have experienced serious pain and hardship, they’ve endured - becoming bolder and often stronger. I credit CSI for recognizing each person’s value and their connection to others."
